Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Start Smooth LLC (“Start Smooth,” “we,” “us” or “our”) for access to DanceScribe. By using DanceScribe, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Notice. If you use DanceScribe for a studio or organization, you confirm that you can accept these Terms for it.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account. Do not share sign-in links or credentials. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping account and relationship information accurate. Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Recording responsibility

You may record a lesson only after giving clear notice and obtaining every consent required by applicable law, studio policy and your agreements with participants. You are responsible for deciding whether recording is appropriate in your location and circumstances. DanceScribe does not replace that judgment or provide legal advice.

Your material and permission to operate the service

You retain your rights in lesson audio, notes, messages and other material you submit. You give Start Smooth a limited permission to host, process, reproduce and transmit that material only as needed to provide, secure and improve DanceScribe and meet legal obligations. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit it.

Generated material

Transcripts, summaries, practice suggestions and chat responses may be incomplete or wrong. They support the teaching relationship; they do not replace an instructor’s judgment, medical advice or professional care. Review generated material when accuracy matters and use correction tools when something needs to change.

Acceptable use

You may not use DanceScribe to:

• record or share people without required notice, consent or authority;
• access another person’s account, lesson or workspace without permission;
• harass, exploit, impersonate or endanger another person;
• upload malware or interfere with the service or its security;
• scrape, reverse engineer or misuse the service except where law permits; or
• violate law or another person’s privacy, intellectual property or other rights.

Studio and relationship administration

Studio owners and administrators are responsible for assigning appropriate roles and access. Instructors and students are responsible for reviewing invitations and shared relationships before accepting them. Ending a relationship may change future access, but it may not erase material another participant lawfully retains.

Availability and changes

DanceScribe may change as we improve the service. We work to make lesson recording and processing dependable, but temporary interruptions, delays or failed processing can occur. Keep any original material you cannot afford to lose. We may limit or suspend access to protect the service, users or legal rights.

Ending use

You may stop using DanceScribe at any time and may request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access for a material breach of these Terms, unlawful use, security risk or conduct that harms other people or the service. Provisions that logically continue after termination—including ownership, disclaimers and limits of liability—will remain in effect.

Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, DanceScribe is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. Start Smooth will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from use of the service. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so these limits may not apply to you.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide notice where appropriate. Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them. Questions can be sent to evan@startsmooth.io.
